Worlds Aids Day 2017 fact


There is a saying that goes, only you know where the shoe pinches. Yeah that is true. Only the affected or the infected know how HIV and Aids affects them. 


Sometimes we get to December 2 World Aids day is when it hits us there are HIV victims all over the world. Thanks to this day many organisation have helped fight HIV impact and reduced the rate of infections

For us to live without HIV and AIDS here are 26 way we can help one another prevent the spreed of it and encourage one another and live with it; 

  1. Go for regular testing.
  2. Eliminate ignorance when it comes to our teenagers by educating them with the true and real facts about HIV.
  3. Stop discrimination among us and support the affected and the infected.
  4. Let the government step in and help HIV and AIDS victims with medical support and access the antiretroviral treatment free or at an affordable price.
  5. Victims should be guided and cancelled at all times.
  6. Have condoms distributed in dispensaries for free to the under privileged.
  7. Educate the pregnant mothers on the importance of early testing.
  8. Circumcision to the men should be encouraged since it reduces the risk of acquiring HIV infection in men.
  9. Offer training to the infected and affected on how to take care of the infected and so that the affected not to get infected.
  10. Take care of the orphans as a result of this disease and help them come into term with the reality of them being orphans and those infected to get medical attention they need.
  11. Visit the victims and offer moral support.
  12. Start an income generating project for the victims to help them financially keeping in mind there health status.
  13. Encourage the victims to join various support groups to encourage one another.
  14. Campaign against negative cultural practices and believes that could be speeding HIV.
  15. Improve infrastructures for example hospitals having good clean facilities and well trained doctors.
  16. Eliminate illiteracy among the peers and the adult for them to know there rights.
  17. Encourage free talks to individuals, learning from various incidents and stories helping people to be in the picture and be aware of this disease.
  18. Equip teachers with necessary information to help educate the children in schools.
  19. Encourage abstinence.
  20. Reduce the number of sexual partners or choose to be monogamous.
  21. Encourage Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) after being potentially exposed to HIV to prevent becoming infected. For example the care givers who are likely to be victims of such incidents.
  22. Chose less risky sexual behaviors e.g stop prostituting. 
  23.  Encourage the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis ( PrEP)for people who are HIV-negative and at very high risk for HIV for example sex workers.

  25. Do no share a syringe if you use drugs.
  26. Talk to your partner whenever you get in trouble of exposure to HIV so you can protect your partner.
